A wee bit about me…
I’m Diane, a mindfulness coach and author.
I work with people who are capable on the outside, but dealing with stress, overthinking, or change underneath, helping them steady their mind, think clearly, and move forward with confidence.
My story
I grew up in Scotland and followed a fairly conventional path into the corporate world, starting my career with ScottishPower after studying Business Economics and Marketing.
Life, as it tends to, had other plans.
After having my two daughters and moving to the Midlands, I took time out of my career before gradually stepping back in, first through volunteering with The Prince’s Trust as a Small Business Advisor, and then into building my own business.
What started as an idea became Dry Like Me, a patented product that went on to be stocked in supermarkets across the UK, Europe, South Africa and the USA.
It was an incredible experience.
Creative, challenging, and deeply rewarding.
And also, at times, exhausting.
Running a business while raising a young family, navigating constant pressure, and trying to hold everything together… it was a lot.
Where Mindfulness Came In
I first came across mindfulness during pregnancy, using simple breathing techniques to manage fatigue and prepare for a natural birth.
At the time, I didn’t realise how important it would become.
As life grew busier and more demanding, mindfulness became the tool that helped me find steadiness in the middle of it all.
It gave me:
Space to think clearly
A way to manage stress and emotion
And a sense of calm, even when life felt anything but calm
I realised I could work with my mind in the same way I could train my body—shifting unhelpful patterns and responding to life in a healthier, more grounded way.
From Personal Practice to Professional Work
What started as something personal quickly grew.
I found myself reading more, learning more, and naturally sharing it with others. The feedback was simple but consistent - it made a difference!
That stayed with me.
In 2018, I made the decision to train professionally, studying mindfulness with Mindfulness Now in Oxford, and began building what is now my coaching practice.
My Approach
My work isn’t based on theory alone.
It’s shaped by real life:
by business, family, pressure, change, and everything that comes with it.
I’ve used these tools through:
Building and running a business
Balancing work and family life
Navigating change, including divorce
Supporting loved ones through illness
That’s why what I offer is practical.
This isn’t about escaping life or trying to “fix” yourself.
It’s about learning how to meet life as it is, with more clarity, steadiness, and self-trust.
A Final Thought
I’m still learning every day.
But when I bring together my experience as an employee, entrepreneur, mum, and everything life has thrown my way… alongside the tools of mindfulness…
I know how to help people find their footing again.
