What meditation really looks and feels like!
Meditation is a skill and like all skills it takes practice, progress is never linear and there is often resistance to get started.
After 25 years of meditation I wouldn’t ever forgo my practice for more than a day or two. Sometimes it feels exactly as I describe in this video and I only get a few seconds of peace from my chattering mind.
At other times it now feels like I’m suspended in a blissful space of non-doing. That state, however, took a long time to reach and when things are busy, stress is high it once again becomes an illusive state.
Regardless of how busy my mind is, the practice is beneficial and ensures I’m focused, clear and in charge of my thoughts, emotions and behaviour.
If you are keen to enjoy the benefits of meditation I can share the foolproof way to succeed - get started and keep practising. As Sharon Salzberg says, ‘What is a good meditator. One who meditates.’
